Qualified trichologists have trained either with the Institute of Trichologists, based in London or the International Association of Trichologists, based in Australia.
Qualified trichologists may be registered members of either of these two leading organisations.
The complete range of work carried out by Joanne and Frank encompass all types of hair and scalp maladies to the specialised area of hair restoration by transplantation. They also act as consultants for leading international cosmetic companies and have been invited to lecture in many countries about the hair and scalp.
Frank has a wide experience in the field of professional negligence and is a member of the Academy of Experts. He is also listed by the Law Societies Directory of Expert Witnesses and the United Kingdom Register of Expert Witnesses.
Joanne's expertise is in hair loss in the female and advising women on how to manage their hair before and during chemotherapy treatment. She is also the International Association of Trichologist's trainer in practical trichology for students from the United Kingdom and Europe.
A word of warning. If you decide to visit a trichologist for treatment beware the establishment that offers free consultation. They are very rarely qualified and you may end up out of pocket with poor treatment and exorbitant fees.
A trichologist registered with either the Institute of Trichologists or the International Association of Trichologists will always charge a consultation fee, which may vary from clinic to clinic. The consultation and hair/scalp assessment will take up to an hour.
The trichologist will seek to find the cause of your problem rather than just treat a symptom.
As you will appreciate, there is no such thing as a free meal. Professional trichologists charge their fees for their expertise in order to be able to give you their time and expert help in solving your hair/scalp problem.
